No. Normal users can run AnxOS with the Local Agent on their own Windows PC. Debian remote Agents remain supported for users who want them.

No. Normal users can run AnxOS with the Local Agent on their own Windows PC. Debian remote Agents remain supported for users who want them.
No. AnxOS manages servers on your PC or on a remote machine you connect. It does not provide hosting capacity by itself.
Yes. Locally hosted servers stay online only while your PC is powered on, connected to the network, and the server process is running.
Yes. You can connect a remote Windows or Linux Agent instead of using This PC, or skip Local Agent setup during remote-only onboarding.
Yes. AnxOS can show This PC alongside remote servers such as a VPS, NAS, Debian server, Windows Server, or Raspberry Pi.
It can. The Local Agent is designed to run as a Windows service so it can start with Windows without leaving the desktop app open.
No. The Local Agent uses an AnxOS-managed runtime, so normal users should not need to install a global Node.js version.
No. Local pairing is handled automatically on your computer. Remote Agent pairing may still use the existing secure remote workflow.
Yes. You can stop or uninstall the Local Agent. User-created instances and backups should not be removed unless an uninstall option explicitly says it will delete them.
Instances are stored in the configured AnxOS instance storage location for the selected node. For This PC, that location is on your own Windows computer.
Private-alpha builds may be unsigned or have limited reputation. Verify the file name, version, and release notes before continuing.
macOS is not listed as a supported Local Agent platform in this release. Do not assume macOS support until it is tested and documented.
The existing remote Debian Agent workflow remains supported. Other Linux distributions should be considered untested unless release notes or docs say otherwise.
AnxOS can scan for supported dependencies and install some of them through managed flows when technically and legally appropriate.
Use Public Access options such as Playit, Tailscale, Cloudflare Tunnel, or manual port forwarding. Your provider, firewall, router, and server settings must allow the connection.
